MultiMedica Scientific Research
Oncological Research
MultiMedica’s oncological research falls within the scope of Translational Research, or as it is commonly referred to, “from bench to bedside”—from the laboratory bench to the patient’s bedside. Scientific activity is therefore based on close collaboration among clinicians, pathologists, and researchers, with the goal of conducting studies that are meaningful and beneficial for both patients and the wider population.
The main areas of oncological research include:
- Screening and primary prevention of colon, prostate, and breast cancer
- Identification of serum and molecular biomarkers for early cancer diagnosis
- Identification and prevention of side effects and adverse reactions to cancer therapies, with particular focus on the cardiovascular system
- Clinical protocols for innovative or experimental therapeutic strategies
- Cancer prevention strategies through lifestyle modifications, with particular focus on diet
- Food-derived agents with potential anti-cancer properties; nutraceuticals
- Angiogenesis, vascular biology of tumors, inflammation, and cancer
- Nanotechnologies in oncology
MultiMedica’s oncological research operates in close collaboration with numerous local institutions and is part of cooperative networks involving public and private research centers, as well as Italian and international universities.
