The Operational Unit of Pulmonary Care at San Giuseppe Hospital in Milan, directed by Dr. Sergio Harari, is recognized as a Center of Excellence for the treatment of pulmonary diseases.
MultiMedica is home to one of the few specialized centers in Europe dedicated to rare pulmonary diseases, including both interstitial lung diseases (such as pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, and LAM) and pulmonary vascular disorders (including pulmonary hypertension and vasculitis), as well as connective tissue diseases with lung involvement.
With over 1,500 patients currently under care, MultiMedica has been recognized by the Lombardy Region as a regional leading center for Rare Diseases.
At our San Giuseppe Hospital location, we offer a full range of advanced diagnostic procedures, including bronchoscopy, right heart catheterization, and transbronchial cryobiopsy. The center is currently home to the largest European case series for certain rare pulmonary diseases such as LAM.
The Pulmonology Unit is a member of ERN-LUNG, the European Reference Network for rare pulmonary diseases, and actively participates clinical trials for both rare and common respiratory conditions. This ensures our patients have early access to the most advanced treatment options available.
