The MultiMedica Breast Unit provides a comprehensive care pathway—from prevention and diagnosis to treatment—addressing all aspects of women’s breast health.
Led by Dr. Bettina Ballardini, Director of Breast Surgery and the Breast Unit, the team manages over 300 new cases each year.
Breast exams and diagnostic imaging services are available at all major MultiMedica locations:

Our team of breast disease specialists uses a multidisciplinary approach, as breast cancer is a complex condition that requires the combined expertise of multiple specialists and advanced technology to provide the best possible care.
The Breast Center team includes specialist radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, pathologists, gynecologists, breast and plastic surgeons, oncologists, radiation therapists, nurses, physiotherapists, and psychologists—all working together to deliver personalized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

The MultiMedica Breast Unit is officially recognized by the Lombardy Region and certified under the international quality standard UNI EN ISO 9001. We provide a fully integrated, multidisciplinary care pathway that spans prevention, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and rehabilitation.
The Breast Unit meets the highest quality standards for Breast Cancer Care, following the guidelines of the European Society of Mastology (EUSOMA) (European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists)—Europe’s leading authority in the field—as well as the directives of the Lombardy Region. These rigorous standards cover the entire continuum of care and require a multidisciplinary team of medical and healthcare professionals, a minimum of 150 breast surgeries performed per year, dedicated operating rooms and inpatient units, as well as specialized nursing staff, including certified Breast Care Nurses
