Notification of a personal data breach
This section is dedicated to the communication of a personal data breach, or “data breach”.
A personal data breach is defined as any “breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed” by the Data Controller.
Examples include:

viruses or other attacks on the organization’s IT system or network

disclosure of confidential data to unauthorized persons

loss of the organization’s laptops, devices, or IT equipment
